Maintenance, Inspection & Shutdown Planning
Systematic condition monitoring and preventive maintenance of the refractory lining – including shutdown planning and turnaround management.

What does Maintenance, involve?
Regular inspection and maintenance of your refractory lining is the key to maximum furnace availability and predictable costs. With our systematic maintenance concept, we identify weak points before they lead to expensive outages – and schedule the necessary measures around your production rhythm.
Our inspection teams use state-of-the-art measurement technology: ultrasonic wall-thickness measurement, infrared thermography and laser surveying enable a precise condition assessment without intervening in the lining. The results feed into our residual service life forecasts and form the basis for your budget planning.
As your partner for complete shutdown planning, we coordinate all refractory-related work during scheduled overhauls. We draw up the schedule, arrange materials and personnel, and ensure that every shutdown day is used to best effect. In this way, unplanned emergencies become plannable maintenance windows.

Step by step to the result
Structured, transparent and on schedule — this is how we work.
Inspection
Regular visual and instrument-based condition assessment
Our inspectors carry out a systematic walkthrough and document the condition of the entire lining. Wall thicknesses are measured ultrasonically and critical areas are examined thermographically. All findings are recorded digitally and compared with previous inspections.
Assessment
Residual service life analysis and recommendations for action
Based on the inspection results, we calculate the remaining service life of each lining area. You receive a clear condition report with a traffic-light rating and specific recommendations for action, including priorities and cost forecasts.
Planning
Shutdown planning and material scheduling
Together with you, we plan the optimum timing and scope of the next shutdown. Materials are ordered in good time, personnel are scheduled and a detailed work programme is drawn up. This allows us to use every shutdown day with maximum efficiency.
Execution
Preventive maintenance work during the shutdown
During the planned shutdown, we carry out all recommended maintenance work – from minor repairs through to partial relinings. Every measure is documented and the maintenance history of your furnace is updated.
