Melting furnace and dosing furnace overhauled in the Czech Republic
Initial situation
A customer in the Czech Republic commissioned SBS Refractory Service with targeted partial repairs to two industrial furnaces – a melting furnace and a dosing furnace. The refractory lining of both units showed local wear that required prompt repair in order to maintain production capability. The project demonstrates the international capability of SBS beyond Germany.

Project data
The task
Logistics planning for an assignment abroad required the coordination of personnel, material and equipment across national borders
Different wear patterns on the two furnaces had to be addressed with specific repair approaches in each case
The work had to be planned so that the interruption to the customer's production was reduced to a minimum
Quality standards and safety requirements had to be assured at the same high level as on domestic assignments
The SBS approach
Our team travelled to the Czech Republic with the necessary special tools and the appropriate refractory materials. On arrival, the condition of both furnaces was assessed and the repair strategy agreed with the customer.
On the melting furnace, the worn areas were specifically removed and professionally restored with new refractory material. In parallel, the dosing furnace underwent a partial repair in which local wear points were made good and the lining renewed in the critical zones.
Both furnaces were able to return to service quickly and reliably once the work was complete. The customer confirmed the high quality of the work and the professional, straightforward cooperation despite the distance.
